Aircraft appraiser ASA appraisal

Appraisals

All of our aircraft appraisals are conducted by Accredited Senior Appraisers (ASA) having specialized training and experience in the Machinery and Technical Specialties with a specific focus on aviation. The accreditation is provided by the American Society of Appraisers, the largest and oldest professional appraisal body in the world. In addition to adherence to the educational and ethical standards of the American Society of Appraisers, our appraisal reports conform to developmental and reporting standards required by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

We offer two forms of aircraft appraisals: 1) in-person (or full appraisals), or 2) desktop appraisals. Both of these types of valuation products have their place and purpose. While both types of appraisal products conform to the USPAP standards, we strongly believe the most accurate valuation comes through the full in-person appraisal. In fact, certain intended uses of an appraisal report will require and in-person evaluation of the subject aircraft. Call or email us today and we will guide you through a series of questions to help inform the process and requirements for your specific scenario.

Common Appraisal Myths

Myth 1: Online databases and pricing guides provide, a cheaper, easier, and quicker valuation.

Reality:  Online databases and pricing guides would be appropriate and work well if the aircraft of a given fleet type are outfitted exactly the same and have the same history. These sources cannot account for the actual condition of the aircraft, findings from a forensic look at the aircraft's records, and market specific conditions.

Myth 2: Any aircraft broker or salesman can give me an appraisal.

Reality:  Yes, they can; however, these "appraisals" are not unbiased and are not certified by an accredited aircraft appraiser, thus not defensible in a court of law, typically are unacceptable financial purposes, and do not conform to USPAP or IRS standards.
